Contrary to anything you may have heard, we have been in business continuously since 1993. Operating at first as a simple partnership, Flo Wolfe Sharp and Rod Sharp registered the trade name Systems Consulting Services in 1993 and later incorporated in 1995. Systems Consulting Services, Inc., (SCS) operated continuously in Ohio until 2004, providing technical documentation, training, elearning, and digital media services. The Sharps moved to Florida in late 2004 and renamed the business Beachside Technical Media, Inc., in 2005, filing as a Florida corporation. Beachside assumed all SCS accounts and continued to provide the same services.
Beachside also consolidated other business ventures of the Sharps, including tradeshow production and software development. Beachside produced The Florida Linux Show in 2008 and 2009, which was a landmark event for the Linux community. In addition, Beachside continues to support Tradeshow Starter and HelpMapper software, both originally developed under SCS. Beachside is currently pursuing patents on a revolutionary, cloud-based software that could radically change social media.
